Preston Mountain Classic 2012

Preston Cycling Club presents the Bike 'N' Bean Preston Mountain Classic on Sunday June 24.

One of the feature events on the Cycling Victoria Winter Calendar, the Preston Mountain Classic is unique in that it finishes at the top of a short but steep climb to Murchison Gap (2km at 8%), thus providing a finale similar to many of the European Classic events such as the Liege-Bastogne-Leige.

The course also features the moderately difficult climb of the Break O'Day (6km at 2-6%), and the fast descent off the Break O'Day down into Yea.

This year's race features three independent events (Open / Men's Masters / Women's) with details as follows:

Open Event - 135km Handicap (2 laps of 69km circuit) Strath Creek – Flowerdale Yea - Kerrisdale - Strath Creek then after 2nd lap towards Broadford to finish at the top of Murchison Gap.
