After a stellar year for Roper, 18, which included gold medals at the Oceania Road Championships and both Australian Junior Road Championship events including the Road Race and Individual Time Trial, Emily will be looking to add a World Championship to the gold she won with fellow Queenslander Taylah Jennings in the Teams Pursuit at the 2011 Junior Track World Championships.

Nicholas Schultz, 17, will represent Australia for the second year in a row when he heads off to Limburg for the Junior World Championships in September. After claiming bronze in this year's Under 19 Australian Junior Road Championships he will set his sights on claiming his first podium finish at the event and add another gold to the trophy case after he won the Individual Time Trial at the 2011 Oceania Road Championships.

Cycling Queensland is excited about the prospect of our junior cyclists competing on the world stage and believe both Emily and Nick will continue their great form when they head overseas for the Championships. Cycling Queensland has generously donated $1000 to both Emily and Nick to help cover the costs of attending the Championships.

Cycling Queensland would like to wish Emily and Nick the best of luck in the Netherlands for the 2012 UCI Road World Championships.
