Contador: “I am thrilled with the team”

Alberto Contador held a media conference overnight after his team Saxo Bank-Bank Tinkoff had competed in the Team Time Trial at the Tour of Spain.

“It was a very, very good time. The team gave everything and, whatever the result, I am very happy with the team and its motivation”.

Alberto emphasized at all times the work of their teamates.

“I hadn’t seen them for a long time and although it was only 16 kilometers in a three weeks tour, every day is important and so I'm very happy. Now we have to go home and recover, because tomorrow will be very demanding”, said Alberto, who returned to the hotel on the same bike with which he did the
race, equipped with an ice jersey.

Contador said he was grateful for the fantastic support of the fans who had waited hours in hot conditions just to catch a glimpse of the riders returning from the race.

“I appreciate everyone coming today and although it wasn’t a victory, what we achieved today was done for our supporters.”

“Today was good, but you have to take everything day by day”.
