Dane Searls hospitalised

Internationally acclaimed BMX freestylist, Dane Searls, has become the victim of foolish prank in Surfers Paradise, critically injuring himself while attempting to dive into a swimming pool from a first floor balcony.

23yo Searls had been celebrating some World Record Freestyle BMX jumps at Boonah on Sunday, when he made a potentially fatal miscalculation later in the day..

Searls is recognised as one of the best Freestyle jumpers in the World and had featured in various BMX videos demonstrating his fearless ability to jump large distances.

He was taken to Gold Coast Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
