Goldstars juniors were out in force at this morning’s Daniel Bennett race which was run backwards to the usual course.
There was a junior representative in every grade. In the Junior & E grade races there was Bradley and Daniel Rae as well as young Ryan Duncan and Zane Muir.
In E Grade there were a few breaks and attacks early in the race but coming into the last lap Bradley Rae attacked over the slight uphill and gained a gap over the field which he held until the finish.
Senior rider Kerry Hocking was 2nd ahead of Alan Hunt, a long time supporter of Club Juniors.
Zane Muir was 1st to cross the line in the Junior race ahead of Ryan Duncan and Daniel Rae.
In D grade we had Nick Bell who rode a great race and finished 4th in a tough field, while in C grade we had our resident femme de fantastic Emily Roper, Troy Berman and Lachlan Devanny.
It was a great race with all our juniors working attacking and finishing high up in the field, with Emily Roper finishing in 4th place.

In the A and B combined race we had Hayden Roper and yours truly, Jesse Kerrison. It was a fast race with an average of 43 km/h.
May I also note that all the juniors raced great, especially with their gear restrictions which tend to make things a lot harder. We have to spin heaps while our racing opponents, who are more often than not, mostly adults can just put it in a big gear and grind out the race.
Overall all the Goldstars juniors had a great day of racing.
