Ten years ago, Steve Harris won the World Senior Individual Championship, and last night at Findon, he became the Veteran World Champion, but only after surviving a nasty crash earlier in the day.
One thing you can say about him is, he certainly has the guts and determination to be a World Champion.
The display he put on here today was the stuff inspirational films are made of!
He was involved in a monster crash in the Senior Semi-Finals, that saw him go head first over his handlebars and into the cement starting grid, suffering more injuries than were apparent.
In the Veteran Individual World Championship, Harris won all his races and was the only rider in the World Titles to take a maximum!
Second , a further three points back was the fantastic, Norman Venson.
What a guy... a fantastic bloke and a bloody good rider too!
Norman wasn't displaying too much form getting into the Final, and was an absolute fox!

He certainly turned it on when needed and picked up three wins and a second on his way.
In third spot was local rider Paul White , who bought a new Archie for this one, as his favourite old bike was almost dead!
Paul only did what was needed doing during qualifying and picked up three wins.
These guys weren't taking any prisoners in this final, and there were some huge crashes and a trip to the hospital for one of the local riders.
Full story coming!
